For me Evolve means transformation. From a primitive state a thing occurs, and from then on everything’s new. That’s why I chose to do a series of three works, each one made to show a different state in the evolution of material. The first is the place where the raw material was collected, to show the primitive state, and then a portrait of the alchemist in their workshop where, through their knowledge and talents, the transformation occurs. Finally there’s a still life of the final product, the result of the evolution of the raw material. — Roman Jehanno
