J.A.W. Cooper was born in England and spent her childhood in Africa, Sweden, Ireland, various other locations throughout Europe, and California. Living somewhat nomadically Cooper gravitated toward drawing as an easy way to entertain herself while traveling light. Since then she has cultivated a deep curiosity toward the natural world and is inspired by forms found in nature, curio cabinets, fashion photography, and nipples in general. Cooper has been making a living as a freelance illustrator, gallery, and sketch artist and currently lives and works in downtown Los Angeles, California.
